VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

If you're eager to make a difference but aren't able to foster or adopt an animal right now, there's still a way for you to contribute! Consider volunteering with Dude's Animal Ranch & Sanctuary. You can tailor your involvement to suit your schedule and preferences, whether you choose to participate in a one-time event or commit to ongoing opportunities. Your support can make a meaningful impact!

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older. (We do allow junior volunteers starting at 14 years old, however a parent or guardian must be present at all times while their child is volunteering.)
  • Must be comfortable standing for extended periods of time.
  • Must be comfortable speaking with the public.
  • Must be comfortable with noisy situations.
  • Shouldn't be fearful of cats or dogs.

General Volunteer Opportunities:

Adoption Counselor: Do you have a knack for connecting with others? If you love playing matchmaker, this is for you! - Help families discover their perfect furry companion through adoption. (Weekdays, Weekends)

Cattery Companion: If you've always loved animals but can't have one at home, why not join us for 1-2 hours a couple of days a week at our Petco Adoption centers? You'll get to interact with our cats and kittens, giving them the socialization they crave while helping with tasks like feeding, cleaning litter boxes, and keeping their living spaces tidy. It's a great way to enjoy the company of furry friends! (Weekdays, Weekends)

Mobile Adoption Master: Want to make a difference but short on time? We need volunteers to help with the setup and takedown of our mobile adoption events. It usually takes about an hour before and an hour after the event to get everything ready and packed up. (Weekends)

Dog Walker: If you adore dogs, join us for mobile adoptions and lend a hand by walking the dogs available on-site! (Weekends)

Animal Biographer: Do you have a way with words? We could really use your talents! Each of our animals has a unique story, and they need your assistance in sharing it. We're seeking volunteers to craft engaging bios for our website, PetFinder, and kennel cards to help give our furry friends a voice. (Weekdays, Weekends)

Volunteer Coordinator Opportunities:

Adoption Program Coordinator: The adoption coordinator engages with the community through outreach programs, educating the public about responsible pet ownership and the importance of adopting rather than shopping for pets. Their dedication not only helps reduce the number of homeless animals but also fosters a compassionate environment where both pets and people can thrive together. You will oversee adoption volunteers and mobile adoptions. You will work closely with the Director of Operations & Compliance.

Foster Care Program Coordinator: The foster care program coordinator overseeing and enhancing the foster care program in addition to the assigned volunteers. This role involves the recruitment, training, and ongoing support of foster families. Additionally, it encompasses the coordination of medical and behavioral care for animals in foster homes, ensuring that each animal receives the attention and care they need during their time away from the shelter.

*Coordinator opportunities necessitate prior experience in rescue leadership or customer service management.
