***AT THIS TIME OUR INTAKE IS CLOSED TO ALL NEW ANIMALS.***

The number of homeless pets in Texas and many Southern states has surged significantly, leading to an overwhelming demand on shelters and rescue organizations. Currently, we have temporarily suspended our intake for both stray animals and those surrendered by their owners. Despite this limitation, we are actively collaborating with local municipalities to assist them in managing their shelter populations, focusing on facilitating adoptions for the animals in their care through our ongoing partnership efforts.

Our commitment to addressing the needs of these animals remains strong, even as we navigate the challenges posed by the increased number of homeless pets. By working closely with local authorities, we aim to help clear shelters and find loving homes for as many animals as possible. This partnership is crucial in ensuring that we can provide support to both the animals and the communities that care for them.

Looking ahead, we are optimistic about the future and anticipate reopening our intake to the public in the second quarter of 2025. This timeline reflects our dedication to ensuring that we can effectively manage the intake process while continuing to prioritize the welfare of the animals we serve. We appreciate the community's understanding and support during this challenging period and remain committed to our mission of rescuing and rehoming pets in need.

NO-KILL ANIMAL RESCUE GROUPS:

We have assembled a directory of local shelters and rescue organizations that may be able to help you in the process of rehoming animals. It is important to understand that this list does not encompass all available shelters and rescue groups in the area. Additionally, we cannot guarantee the availability of services or verify the current status of these organizations, as this information has not been confirmed by us at Dude's Animal Ranch & Sanctuary.

We consistently strive to deliver precise information regarding no-kill shelters; however, it remains the responsibility of the owner to confirm the current no-kill status of the organization.

LOCAL MUNICIPAL ANIMAL SHELTERS

Before taking any pet to your local shelter please reach out to as many rescue organizations as you can. IF YOU MUST TAKE THE PET TO A SHELTER, PLEASE AVOID BARC WITHIN THE CITY OF HOUSTON.

Below is a list of local shelters in and around the Houston area. Please keep in mind these shelters work hard to find good homes for the pets in their care. However, no shelter can guarantee that the pet you surrender will not be euthanized.
