ADOPTION INFORMATION

The Adoption Process:

STEP 1: SUBMIT A QUESTIONNAIRE

Complete an online application or complete one in-person. To start the process, you must meet with the pet in person. Online Adoption Application

STEP 2: REFERENCE & BACKGROUND CHECK

Once you submit your Adoption Questionnaire to us, we will perform a reference check with the information provided. (We do verify all information provided on the adoption application.)

STEP 3: SPEAK WITH AN ADOPTION COUNSELOR

The Adoption Counselor can review your questionnaire with you and provide more information about the pet of your choice.

STEP 4: BOARD REVIEW & APPROVAL

Once the above steps are completed The Board of Directors will meet and discuss you application in regard to approval. You will receive an email from our Director of Operations & Compliance with your application status and the next steps.

STEP 5: INTRODUCTIONS

Upon approval we will have you schedule your official meet & greet. Any current dogs in the home are encouraged to come in for the scheduled dog introduction. Potential adopters must speak with an Adoption Counselor to schedule meet & greet sessions.

STEP 6: ADOPTION FINALIZATION

We will email you the Adoption Contract to sign. At this time we will collect the adoption fee and schedule a date for your new fur baby to go to their FOREVER HOME!

Current pets’ vet records.
Proof of current residence pet policy.
Unexpired Texas Driver’s License of anyone over 18 years old living in your home.

Adoption Requirements:

18+ YEARS OF AGE

You must be at least 18 years of age with a valid form of identification, valid photo ID & proof of residency.

PROOF OF PET POLICY

Be able to provide proof of current residence pet policy.

PET VACCINATIONS

Cats and dogs living in the home must be up to date on their rabies vaccination, as required by state law.

PRIMARY CARETAKER

The primary caretaker of the pet must be present to complete the adoption process.

ADOPTION SCREENING

Potential adopters must go through an adoption screening process.
